Principal's Message

photo of principal, Michael KenoWelcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I am honored to welcome you to St. Theresa Catholic School and to share with you some of the outstanding programs and attributes that make St. Theresa a truly exceptional school.

St. Theresa offers a variety of programs that engage students in learning and promote academic exploration. Our curriculum is robust and includes unique offerings such as Music, Art, Spanish, Physical Education, and STEM education, which enhance our core curriculum and encourage our students to become well-rounded individuals.

At St. Theresa, we set high academic expectations for all of our students and provide a nurturing environment along with numerous levels of support to ensure that our students are successful. Our students excel academically and are well prepared when they enter high school. We understand how important technology is in our 21st Century World. We are in our third year of a 1:1 Chromebook program for students in grades K-8. Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, we equipped 11 classrooms with interactive panels as an instructional enhancement. We are excited about this opportunity to help our students excel further in the classroom and to teach them how to become responsible collaborative digital citizens.

While on the topic of 21st Century Learning, two years ago, St. Theresa began incorporating 21st century personalized learning practices to meet the individual needs of students. In order to support students becoming successful adults in the modern workplace, St. Theresa is providing STEM curriculum and strategies that foster communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking across all grade levels. To further support our STEM curriculum offerings, our technology lab is evolving from a computer lab to a space that will allow for advanced problem solving, engineering design, coding, and robotics.

Our Catholic Identity is at the heart of our school. We share our faith through religion class, weekly mass, sacrament preparation, and through various service-learning projects, including our student’s personal journey with Christ which is of utmost importance to us.

Our school would not be what it is without our teachers; they are remarkable! St.Theresa teachers are committed to the academic, spiritual, and emotional growth of each student. On a daily basis they model the values of Respect, and Responsibility, which are at the heart of our school culture. They have helped to create a caring and supportive school community that is rooted in the Catholic faith, one in which every student feels valued and respected.

Please visit our website or school newsletter for more information about our school.

In Christ,

Michael A. Keno
